4. Stay at the Dixie Daisy
5. Learn to use my sewing machine
6. Give our backyard a makeover
7. Make a cake from scratch
8. Nest! Continue making our home a place we love living
9. Take a doggie obedience class
10. Eat somewhere new in Waco
11. Go on a boat ride
12. Take a photograph worthy of displaying in our home (and display it!)
13. Tour a winery
14. Attend a Baylor sporting event
15. Surprise a friend
16. Buy a new board game
17. Attempt something out of my comfort zone
18. Go hear live music
19. Attend my 10 year high school reunion (YIKES.)
20. Take my BCBA exam (and pass it!)
21. Plant a herb garden
22. Volunteer my time
23. Throw a dinner party with a theme
24. Divergent the movie!
25. Upcycle a thrift store treasure
26. Visit a beach
27. Make a new friend

I gotta say, I'm feeling pretty excited about this list. Here's to a great year! 

weekend recap

Our weekend of randomly picking activities out of a hat was a success! We had the best time, and it was nice not feeling pressured to make decisions for a little while. Our lineup of activities (in pictures!) included:

buying vampire teeth
finishing up the last of our thank you cards
a trip to the pumpkin patch
picking up some spooky stella-wear
tanner's first (and probably last) sushi experience...so sad
some equally awesome, though not pictured, activities included:
road trip to a small-town fall festival
a neighborhood bike ride with musical accompaniment
perfecting the art of omelet making (Tanner is a PRO, I tell you)
board games on the patio at sunset
QT couch and movie time (X's 2!)

Quite possibly one of my favorite weekends ever. :]

Tonight we're settling in for a cold front that's moving through! Tomorrow I will wear a sweater AND maybe even tights. Praise Jesus. Hoping your weekend was wonderful!

The Weekly To Do's

Happy Monday!
After a pretty splendid weekend (even with all the studying) I'm ready to tackle this LAST. DAY. OF CLASS. and have myself a nice 2 week break.
I have quite the set of plans lined up for this week:

finish writing big scary paper
wrap up the final paper trail for work
decorate my new office
make stuffed jalapenos for dinner
do some serious planning for the backyard oasis
zumba AND yoga (x's 2)
mario cart
line up dog sitting schedule for miss stella
pack for VEGAS

Friday the boy and I leave for Vegas for the week where we will meet up with 2 of my most favorite Alabama people and have the time of our lives. :)

Hello Weekend :)

It's FRIDAY!
Halle-stinkin-lujah.
I was pretty sure this weekend would never get here.
It's my birthday weekend :))) And while I have quite a hefty paper due on Tuesday, I have every intention of at least spending part of this weekend celebrating life and enjoying myself.

The plans?
Still undecided. I have a few ideas though. Pretty much anything from this list would be quite lovely:

Seeing SALT
Picnic in the park with puppy and the mister
Flying KITES at a picnic in the park with puppy and the mister
Shopping for patio furniture/designing my new backyard oasis
Picture taking adventure with puppy and mister
Movie night complete with couch and cuddling
FROYO

Of course there will also be some house cleaning, laundry folding and studying happening somewhere in there....but this weekend definitely has potential. :)
